We're pleased to be inviting you to an event focusing on the 'evolving crisis' of intimate partner and sexual abuse and violence, organised by the University of Surrey and the Universidade de São Paulo as part of the UGPN project 'Women's (Im)Mobility in Times of Crisis'.

The global response to the Covid-19 pandemic has had devastating impacts on victim-survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence and abuse. Violence and abuse against women and girls (VAWG) was already a crisis but the response to the pandemic has underscored the intersecting nature and impacts of crises.

Join Joanne Rollings, from Solace Women's Aid, and University of Surrey academic, Emily Setty, to explore the realities of VAWG, the support that Solace can provide, and the vision Solace has for ending VAWG. We will discuss the different types of abuse and violence, and the factors that contribute to the impact that abuse and violence has on women and children. We will also outline the new model that Solace is developing in order to understand, and hopefully ameliorate, the impact of crises (including the pandemic) on VAWG.
